NAAFI Break tea goes on sale on the high street
NAAFI tea goes on sale to civilians for the first time.
The famous beverage served to Britain’s Armed Services for nearly 90 years is now on sale in branches of Spar nationwide to help raise money for troops injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
NAAFI chief executive Reg Curtis said: “We are delighted to work with Spar to ensure NAAFI tea is widely available for everyone to enjoy for the first time in our history. With 50p from the sale of each NAAFI Break box of tea going to Help for Heroes, forces’ families and the general public will be able to enjoy our tea knowing that their purchase is going directly towards helping our troops on operations.”
Part of the appeal of Break tea is its comfort factor. NAAFI tea provides Britain’s servicemen and women with a “taste of home”.
NAAFI’s branching out onto the high street is sign of the retailer’s renewed confidence. With a reinvigorated brand identity, NAAFI’s heritage tea can now compete on the shelf with leading tea brands.
