Southeastern Highspeed 6 months on...
Southeastern Highspeed recently celebrated the six month anniversary of the introduction of the UK’s first domestic high speed service.
Southeastern service delivery director Vince Lucas has reported that Kent’s high speed commuter service is carrying an extra 5,000 passengers every morning. It had been widely thought that the higher ticket prices for Southeastern Highspeed might deter passengers from using the rail link. With this in mind, it was vital for the brand to communicate the economic and regeneration benefits to Kent of high speed rail.
Towns are already starting to see a positive impact from Southeastern Highspeed with 75% of journeys made form Canterbury West to London now made on the premium service. The shorter journey times have made Canterbury a highly commutable place to live and could have a far reaching impact on the future prosperity of the ancient city famous for its cathedral. -
